You hear all the pro’s talking about the need to shallow club on downswing! Do you advocate it!
Definitely not. "Shallowing" is yet another, fairly recent, buzz term in golf. Drives me nuts quite frankly. It's meant to address casting. However casting is caused purely by trying to put the club in a position to hit up. It's akin to going to the doctor with a cough and being told to cover your mouth. Learn to hit down, on plane, and there is no casting, and no need to shallow. Hope this helps, Clive
Clive Thanks!
Clive: all the pro’s use trackman to evaluate a swing and the put a lot of time on what your club angle is at impact! If you have a negative or positive face angle they want you to change! What do you think?
First… Not all the pros use track man. Unless you are talking about the top 100 tour pros in the world. But not most teaching pros. There is so so so much to learn before getting to face angle. Only a scratch player who is trying to get to another level needs to worry about that. And even then it’s debatable as truthfully, short game is going to make a bigger impact.
Clive Thanks!
Clive do you have any rules of Thumb for grip pressure with different clubs?
Clive I’ve been noticing a slice on the majority of my shots at The range! Do you have any drills to correct?
